Time-resolved attenuation of transmitted laser pulses by a homogeneous scattering medium

    Abstract:

    The attenuation of a beam of pulses transmitted through a constant thickness of uniform latex microsphere solution is measured as a function of the flight time of the light and of the concentration of microspheres. The implications for the feasibility of time-resolved breast imaging are discussed.
