Summary

Apoptosis significantly impacts glial cells in cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) brain lesions. Neuronal apoptosis is initially confined to the brain stem, suggesting a progression in CADASIL pathogenesis.
