Right sided mammary hamartoma--a case report

Mammary hamartoma is an uncommon benign lesion that presents as a palpable or impalpable mass in the breast. The lesion may be underdiagnosed by the pathologist, as the pathological appearance is not distinctive. Though mammary hamaroma is benign in nature, carcinomas can arise in it. Hence awareness of this lesion and a correct diagnosis is essential. A case of right sided mammary hamartoma clinically presenting as fibro-adenoma in a 38 years old female is reported. Lumpectomy was performed. Histopathological diagnosis confirmed it to be a case of mammary hamartoma.
