Summary

Circulating immune complexes (CIC) containing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antigens (HIV-Ag-CIC) were found in most children with HIV-1 infection. Elevated HIV-Ag-CIC correlated with severe disease and mortality, suggesting its value in monitoring HIV progression.
