[Up-to-date algorithms for diagnosis and treatment of chronic hepatitis B]
Abstract:
Chronic viral hepatitis B (CHB) is one of the main causes of chronic diffuse diseases of liver. CHB virus (HBV) is identified in 350-400 mln subjects or 5% of the Earth's population including 2.1 mln Russian residents. HBV carriers are at high risk of cirrhosis, hepatic insufficiency and carcinoma which accounts for the estimated 25-40% mortality rate among the infected subjects. The paper presents data on epidemiology and pathogenesis of CHB, its diagnostic and treatment with the use of modern technologies and antiviral agents.
