Area of Science:

  • Medical Case Reports
  • Surgical Procedures
  • Radiology

Background:

  • Foreign body in breast tissue is an uncommon clinical occurrence.
  • Accidental insertion of needles into the breast can happen.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To report a rare case of a needle foreign body in the breast.
  • To highlight the importance of surgical management for breast foreign bodies.

Main Methods:

  • A 21-year-old female patient presented with a needle in her right breast.
  • Surgical removal of the foreign body was performed under fluoroscopic guidance.

Main Results:

  • The needle was successfully removed from the breast tissue.
  • The patient experienced a positive outcome post-surgery.

Conclusions:

  • Surgical intervention is necessary for patients with needles in their breast tissue.
  • This approach mitigates the risk of needle migration to the thoracic cavity and other vital organs.
