  • CBCT detected IRR in 100% of root surfaces, versus 68.8% for radiographs (P < .001).
  • The extension of IRR was significantly greater in CBCT images (95.8% >1-4 mm) compared to radiographs (52.1%) (P < .001).

Conclusions:

  • CBCT demonstrates superior diagnostic performance for evaluating inflammatory root resorption.
  • CBCT is a valuable tool for assessing IRR, outperforming periapical radiography.
