[National environmental policy plan and veterinary medicine]

The main lines of environmental policy of The Netherlands are reviewed in the present paper. The paper particularly deals with environmental policy concerned with agriculture, which is most directly associated with the health of animals and attention is also paid to gaps in knowledge. Investigations will, for instance, be required on the subject of veterinary drugs which find their way into the environment.
