Summary

Researchers identified LGALS4 and CLU proteins as differentially expressed in sinonasal adenocarcinoma. Further studies are needed to assess their potential as early diagnostic markers for high-risk workers exposed to wood dust.

  • LGALS4 (Galectin 4) was significantly overexpressed, especially in differentiated tumors.
  • CLU (Clusterin) expression was lost in all analyzed tumors.
  • ACS5 (Acyl-CoA synthetase) showed heterogeneous expression without clear correlation to tumor type.

Conclusions:

  • LGALS4 and CLU are significantly differentially expressed in sinonasal adenocarcinoma.
  • These proteins show potential as diagnostic markers.
  • Further research including precancerous and low-grade tumors is required to validate their diagnostic utility.
