Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is linked to higher body mass index, socioeconomic status, demanding work, and weaker pelvic floor muscles. Physical activity and joint mobility were not found to be risk factors in this study.

- Key risk factors for POP include elevated BMI, lower socioeconomic status, strenuous occupational demands, anal sphincter trauma, and impaired PFM function.
- Joint mobility and general physical activity levels do not appear to be independent risk factors for POP.
