Summary

Radioguided surgery using a gamma probe effectively located and removed a spinal osteoblastoma. This technique improved tumor localization and resection, especially near neural structures.

Observation:

  • Diagnostic imaging includes X-ray, CT, MRI, and bone scintigraphy showing increased radiotracer uptake.
  • Surgical resection may be limited by tumor proximity to neural elements.
  • A case of spinal osteoblastoma treated with radioguided surgery (gamma probe and mini gamma camera) is presented.

Findings:

  • Radioguided surgery enabled precise localization of the spinal osteoblastoma nidus.
  • The technique facilitated effective tumor removal with improved accuracy.
