Summary

Hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) seroconversion before age 30 indicates an excellent prognosis for chronic hepatitis B patients. Delayed HBeAg seroconversion after age 40 is linked to increased risks of HBeAg-negative hepatitis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
