Dermis

Summary

A solitary eyebrow papule in a patient with a history of melanoma was diagnosed as a cellular neurothekeoma. This rare benign skin tumor requires accurate histopathological identification.

Background:

A 70-year-old male with a history of lentigo maligna melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers presented with a persistent eyebrow lesion.
This clinical context raises diagnostic considerations for both benign and malignant skin neoplasms.

Observation:

A solitary, asymptomatic, 5-mm, smooth, dome-shaped, skin-colored papule with subtle central erosion was noted on the left eyebrow.
No significant vascular changes like telangiectasias were observed on the lesion's surface.

Findings:

Histopathological examination revealed plump spindle cells in a plexiform pattern amidst thick, keloidal collagen.
Immunohistochemical analysis showed lesional cells were NKI/C3-positive and S-100-negative.
