This review found inconclusive evidence on splinting duration for replanted permanent teeth. Current guidelines for splinting avulsed teeth are not contraindicated, suggesting duration does not impact healing success.

This systematic review evaluated the impact of splinting duration on the healing outcomes of replanted avulsed permanent teeth.

Discussion:

The review synthesized findings from studies with varying methodologies, sample sizes, and outcome terminology, limiting definitive conclusions.
A total of 138 replanted avulsed permanent teeth were analyzed, comparing short-term (≤14 days) and long-term (>14 days) splinting protocols.

Key Insights:

Evidence remains inconclusive regarding the association between splinting duration and improved periodontal healing or reduced replacement resorption.
No evidence emerged to contraindicate current clinical guidelines for splinting duration in replanted teeth.
