This case report details a rare urachal endometrioma, an unusual cause of abdominal pain in a 40-year-old woman. Histopathology confirmed the endometrioma originated from the urachal remnant, highlighting rare urachal pathologies.

Background:

Endometriomas are typically found in abdominal scars.
This report focuses on an exceptionally rare case of endometrioma originating from the urachus.

Purpose of the Study:

To report a rare case of urachal endometrioma.
To discuss the pathological complications associated with urachal remnants.

Main Methods:

A case study of a 40-year-old woman with subacute abdominal pain and a suprapubic mass.
Surgical resection of the mass.
Histopathological examination of the resected tissue.
Review of imaging studies and relevant literature.

Main Results:

Histopathology confirmed the suprapubic mass was an endometrioma.
The endometrioma was found to originate from a urachal remnant.

Conclusions:

This case represents a rare instance of an endometrioma arising from the urachus.
Urachal remnants can present with rare pathological complications, including endometriosis.
Further understanding of urachal pathologies is warranted.
