Summary

Microsurgical vasectomy reversal offers a higher success rate for restoring patency compared to loupe-assisted methods. This microscopic approach may reduce the risk of postoperative complications like vasal stricture.

  • Microsurgical technique (group I) showed a significantly higher patency rate (96%) compared to loupe-assisted (group II) (72%).
  • Sperm concentration and motility were comparable between groups for men with achieved patency.
  • Postoperative vasal stricture occurred only in the loupe-assisted group (group II).

Conclusions:

  • Microsurgical vasectomy reversal yields superior patency rates.
  • The microscopic approach may decrease the incidence of postoperative vasal stricture.
