This study reports a rare case of primary spinal angiosarcoma in the posterior elements. Successful surgical removal was achieved after preoperative embolization for this hypervascular tumor.

Background:

Primary spinal tumors are uncommon, with angiosarcoma being exceptionally rare.
Angiosarcoma originating in the posterior elements of the spine has not been previously documented.

Observation:

A 39-year-old male presented with progressive bilateral lower limb numbness and paresis.
Neuroimaging revealed a large dorsal extradural tumor at the T11 level, causing spinal cord compression and involving the left foramen and posterior elements.
Spinal angiography confirmed a hypervascular nature of the tumor.

Findings:

The tumor was successfully treated with preoperative endovascular embolization followed by laminectomy and complete tumor removal.
Histopathological confirmation of angiosarcoma was established.
