Summary

Specific formulas for estimating fetal weight in fetuses under 1500g do not significantly improve accuracy. While the Scott formula showed narrow agreement, Hadlock formulas were more favorable for predicting birth weight in small fetuses.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the accuracy of specific fetal weight formulas for fetuses under 1500g.
  • To evaluate widely used formulas against those designed for very small fetuses.
  • To determine the optimal method for sonographic fetal weight estimation in this population.

  • A retrospective analysis of 459 singleton pregnancies with birth weights <= 1500g.
  • Evaluation of six general fetal weight formulas and four specialized formulas.
