Measurement of three-dimensional displacements by hologram interferometry
Applied Optics
|January 30, 2010
Abstract:
It is possible to determine three-dimensional displacements by recording the three holograms of the surface from three different viewpoints and counting the fringe order numbers at each corresponding point on the surface. The experimental values obtained here follow the theoretical results well.

Distance Measurements by Taping
Tapes are essential in surveying for accurate, durable, and short-distance measurements. Made from lightweight, nylon-coated steel, they offer flexibility and strength for rugged outdoor use. The nylon coating protects against rust and wear, extending the tape's life. Standard lengths, around 30 meters, are marked in meters and millimeters for precision.Surveyors select tapes based on site conditions and accuracy needs. Lightweight, nylon-coated tapes are commonly used for ease of handling and...
Three-Dimensional Analysis of Strain
Three-dimensional strain analysis is crucial for understanding how materials deform under stress, particularly in elastic, homogeneous materials. This method employs principal stress axes to simplify complex stress states into more understandable forms. Subjected to stress, a small cubic element within a material either expands or contracts along these axes, transforming into a rectangular parallelepiped. This transformation effectively illustrates the material's deformation. The principal...
