Evidence for hypomotility in non-ulcer dyspepsia: a prospective multifactorial study

Non-ulcer dyspepsia often involves delayed gastric emptying and small bowel transit. Symptoms did not correlate with these gastrointestinal motility disorders in this study.

- Hypomotility, including gastroparesis and delayed small bowel transit, is common in non-ulcer dyspepsia.
- These motility disorders may be linked to other gastrointestinal functional disturbances.
- No direct association was found between NUD symptoms and the objective GI abnormalities identified.
