This study investigated gene expression in tonsils of patients with immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) treated with tonsillectomy and steroid pulse therapy. Elevated apolipoprotein B messenger RNA-editing enzyme catalytic polypeptides 2 (APOBEC2) expression in IgAN tonsils was linked to lower serum IgG levels.
