The relationship between endothelial damage and aortic augmentation index.

Increased levels of von Willebrand factor (vWF), an endothelial damage marker, are linked to heightened wave reflections in hypertension. Soluble thrombomodulin (sTM) showed no association with wave reflections in this study.

- Elevated vWF levels significantly contribute to increased wave reflections in hypertensive individuals.
- vWF may serve as a marker for endothelial damage contributing to arterial stiffness in hypertension.
