7S and 19S Isoagglutinins in Systemic Lupes Erythematosus
1Rheumatic Disease Unit Department of Internal Medicine, Southwestern Medical School University of Texas, Dallas, Texas, USA.
Abstract:
The 7S and 19S distribution of blood group isoantibodies (isoagglutinins) has been measured in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. The only possibly significant finding was a lower level of macroglobulin isoagglutinin to B cells in patients of blood type A. This is consistent with previous findings of lessened response to bacterial antigens by the macroglobulin antibody.
