Persistent cognitive depressive symptoms are associated with coronary artery calcification

Persistent depression over 10 years significantly increases the risk of sub-clinical coronary atherosclerosis (CAC) in men. Single depressive episodes did not show an association with CAC, highlighting the importance of long-term exposure.
