Summary

Complexed antibodies to hepatitis B e antigen (anti-HBe) IgG subclasses were analyzed in HBsAg-positive sera. Complexed anti-HBe IgG1 and IgG4 were frequently detected, potentially indicating seroconversion years in advance.
