This study found that fibrinogen levels significantly increased in orthopedic trauma patients, despite normal disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) scores. Further research is needed to link elevated fibrinogen to trauma type or surgical procedures.

- Orthopedic trauma patients, excluding those with severe complicating factors, exhibit a significant increase in fibrinogen levels.
- Standard coagulation parameters and DIC scores may not fully capture the hemostatic changes in these patients.
- Larger prospective studies are necessary to establish correlations between elevated fibrinogen levels and specific trauma or surgical characteristics.
