Geranylgeranylacetone (GGA) protects against 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP)-induced hearing loss by preserving cochlear mitochondria. GGA pretreatment significantly reduced hearing threshold shifts and protected vital cochlear cells from 3-NP damage.
