Summary

This case report details a valve-sparing aortic root repair for acute type A aortic dissection. Six-month follow-up showed successful repair with no signs of dissection or pseudoaneurysm.

  • The patient underwent partial aortic root remodeling using a valve-sparing approach.
  • An adventitial inversion technique was employed during the surgical repair.

Findings:

  • Postoperative computed tomography (CT) at six months demonstrated successful aortic root repair.
  • No evidence of recurrent dissection or pseudoaneurysm formation was observed in the aortic root.
  • The valve-sparing technique effectively addressed the complex aortic dissection.

Implications:

  • This surgical approach offers a potential solution for complex aortic dissections involving the aortic root.
  • Preserving the native aortic valve can improve long-term patient outcomes.
  • Adventitial inversion may be a valuable adjunct in aortic root reconstruction for dissections.
