The serotonin transporter gene (SLC6A4) polymorphisms, specifically 5-HTTLPR and 5-HTTVNTR, are linked to Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD). Certain SLC6A4 genotypes increase the risk for APD in male inmates.

- Under-representation of severe APD cases in previous studies may explain failed replication of SLC6A4-APD associations.
