Characterizing Far-infrared Laser Emissions and the Measurement of Their Frequencies

Abstract:
The wave fronts of several types of diode laser are investigated by means of Mach-Zehnder and phase difference amplification interferometers. The astigmatic aberration tolerance of each diode laser is estimated using aberration theory to determine if the lasers are suitable as light sources for precise optical systems, such as laser beam printers and optical disks.
