Orthopedic surgeons widely accepted the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) one year post-implementation, noting faster image retrieval and improved patient care. However, monitor quality in operating theaters needs enhancement, and ongoing PACS training is crucial for sustained success.

    • 100% reported improved clinicoradiological meetings; 83% found operating theater viewing equipment good/very good, and 100% rated outpatient clinic monitor quality highly.

    Conclusions:

    • Overall acceptance of PACS by non-radiology physicians is high, with significant improvements in image availability and speed.
    • Enhancements are needed for operating theater monitor quality, and consistent PACS training is essential for sustained success.
    • Missed conventional radiograms during ward rounds and the need for refresher training highlight areas for further system refinement.
