[Oligodontia with prosthodontic rehabilitation. A case report]
Abstract:
Oligodontia or partial anodontia is the congenital absence of one or more teeth. The inconvenience to patients will vary depending on the specific teeth and the number of teeth that are missing. Permanent teeth are often involved. This report describes an oligodontia case in a 12 years old boy, who had only seven permanent teeth, with root resorption of all remaining deciduous teeth. This boy had problems with esthetics, mastication, and phonation. The prosthesis for him included two splinted porcelain crowns on the upper certral incisors, a conventional maxillary RPD, and a overlayed mandibular RPD. It is necessary for us to monitor this case to achieve better results in the future.
