[Summarization of the modern history of 60 years of infectious diseases]

During 60 years of establishment of the new China, the research on the modern history of infectious diseases went through 4 stages, that is the stage of materials arrangement and difficult beginning, the stage of gradual development within the frame of the history of medicine, the stage of structured development and multiple visual angles, and the stage of complete development with multiple levels. Many achievements were obtained, such as the research group increasing gradually, a more logical knowledge structure of scholars, emergence of the aim of human solicitude, and wider research viewpoints. However, there were some weaknesses, such as the shortage of further research of achievements, the regional imbalance of research, simplex diseases, and little attention paid to the activities of missionaries.
