[Life quality changes in patients with defects of auricles (social-psychological aspects)]
Abstract:
In the study the life quality changes in 58 patients were analyzed who had in anamnesis congenital or acquired defect of auricle based upon changes of 2 main aspects of patient functioning (personal and social). It was shown that patients of both groups had definite emotional peculiarities (if compared with control group of healthy persons) that were expressed in different degrees depending upon etiology, intensity and size of the defect. In the psychological study considerable deterioration of personal aspect of the patients' quality of life was detected. After fulfilled operative and subsequent rehabilitation treatment of the patients of both groups their life quality improved.
