Leprosy in Medieval Denmark--osteological and epidemiological analyses

Summary

Medieval leprosy prevalence varied by location and time. Rural areas had higher rates in the early Middle Ages, while urban areas saw earlier declines due to institutionalization. Leprosy was less common in North Scandinavia.
