Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition primarily affecting the colon and rectum. The primary drugs used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis are aminosalicylates. Summary

Mesalazine, used for ulcerative colitis, can cause rare multi-organ hypersensitivity. Discontinuing the drug resolved all symptoms in a patient, confirming its adverse effects.

Background:
