Abstract:
Perinat-France.org was launched in 2000 as a response to the need for information and communication concerning perinatal healthcare in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Ten years on, Perinat-France.org has extended its public healthcare mission to the Provence Côte d'Azur region, Corsica and Monaco. The object of this article is to provide a history of the website and of its development. The more particular focus of this paper is the networking required to ensure the success of the project, which includes perinatal healthcare professionals and gradually involves user representatives. The different sections of this study are articulated around this collaborative work model, which has enabled a harmonization of information. The article then provides some thoughts on the obstacles to and conditions of success, as well as the promotion of the website. Finally it analyses the various contributions made by Perinat-France.org: having established itself as a genuine support tool for families and professionals, the website and its reputation also aim to guarantee the quality of the information provided. In addition to the sections that focus on support, contact, and website guidance, the HONCode accreditation serves to reinforce this credibility, which has been well established from the launch of the website up until today by the various work groups made up of experts and professionals, all established authorities in their specific domains.
