Summary

The open Latarjet procedure effectively restores shoulder stability and function in elderly patients with glenoid bone defects and anterior instability. This technique provides a reliable solution when soft-tissue repair is not suitable.

  • Outcomes were assessed using the Constant-Murley score and range of motion measurements.
  • Main Results:

    • All 11 patients achieved shoulder stability and improved function at a minimum 4-year follow-up.
    • No recurrence of instability was observed.
    • Mean Constant-Murley score improved significantly (56.4 to 81.8), with minimal loss of motion.

    Conclusions:
