Open approaches to posterior mediastinal tumor in adults

Thoracic surgeons must be familiar with available surgical approaches for posterior mediastinal tumors in order to choose the approach that will contribute to better prognosis and patient quality of life. An open surgical approach should be decided on based on the tumor size, location, and pathology.
