Abstract:
Medical hypnosis uses very simple techniques which can profitably be applied in childbirth. Obstetricians have great psychological advantages as hypnotists. A simple procedure for inducing a hypnotic state is described. The problems of this method, such as the time factor, are discussed; also the feasibility of a Department of Hypnotic Medicine in medical schools.
