Abstract:
Scuba diving is physiologically and psychologically extremely demanding. There may be more than 25,000 scuba divers in Canada at present and the number is rapidly increasing. Reputable underwater instruction associations require health assessments for their students before subjecting them to any actual training. The nature of such assessments is of increasing concern to the diving community. This guide attempts to establish some standards and a minimal health assessment protocol for potential scuba trainees.
