    Summary

    Patients with visual field defects show consistent contralesional line bisection errors (LBE) in both acute and chronic phases. Lesions in the lingual gyrus and cuneus are linked to these errors, not adaptive changes.

    • Visual field defects (VFDs) commonly result in contralesional line bisection errors (LBE).
    • The behavior of LBE in the acute phase of VFDs is less understood, with some suggesting ipsilesional errors.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the association between specific lesion sites and line bisection errors (LBE) in patients with VFDs.
    • To determine if LBE differs between the acute and chronic phases of VFDs.

    Main Methods:

    • Voxelwise lesion-behavior mapping analysis was used.
    • Twenty-two stroke patients without neglect and with VFDs were assessed for LBE and lesion sites.

    Main Results:

    • No significant difference in the direction or extent of LBE was observed between acute and chronic phases.
