  • Occipital scalp masses can present with neurological symptoms.
  • Epidermoid cysts are benign tumors that can occur in various locations.

Observation:

  • A 60-year-old male presented with occipital mass, headache, nausea, and dizziness.
  • MRI revealed a well-defined occipital scalp mass extending intracranially into the posterior fossa.

Findings:

  • The mass was completely excised.
  • Histopathology confirmed a cystic structure lined by squamous epithelium with keratin, consistent with an epidermoid cyst.

Implications:

  • Surgical resection is an effective treatment for symptomatic intracranial epidermoid cysts.
  • Early diagnosis and complete removal lead to favorable patient outcomes.
