Summary

Spatial perspective taking in communication activates brain regions involved in mentalizing. This study shows that considering others' intentions and perspectives recruits the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) and social brain network.

  • The mere presence of directors activated the superior dorsal medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) and temporal regions (superior/middle temporal sulci, pSTS).

  • These activated regions are associated with processing social information, body perception, and understanding others' mental states.
