The epidemiologic problem oriented approach (EPOA) methodology creates structured knowledge bases essential for developing disease models. This study applied EPOA to build a comprehensive knowledge base for human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) modeling.
