Background:

Primary care networks (PCNs) are crucial for delivering quality healthcare with limited resources.
PCNs aim to improve patient care, team collaboration, and resource allocation.
Government initiatives increasingly rely on PCNs for healthcare system efficiency.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the perceived team effectiveness within PCNs.
To identify factors influencing team effectiveness in primary care settings.
To explore strategies for enhancing team collaboration in PCNs across Alberta.

Main Methods:

A descriptive, cross-sectional, exploratory study design was utilized.
Semi-structured questionnaires were administered to collect data.
The study focused on PCNs within three former health regions in Alberta.

Main Results:

Respondents identified five key themes related to strategies for improving team effectiveness.
Various factors contributing to and hindering team effectiveness were highlighted.
The findings provide insights into the current state of team effectiveness in these PCNs.

Conclusions:

Further research is necessary to fully explore the identified strategies and factors.
Implementing identified strategies could enhance team effectiveness in PCNs.
Understanding perceived team effectiveness is vital for optimizing primary care delivery.
