Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is linked to higher soluble CD40L (sCD40L) levels. Combination therapy with ethinyl oestradiol-cyproterone acetate and metformin reduced sCD40L in PCOS patients, but did not fully normalize levels compared to controls.
