Internet-delivered treatments for long-term conditions: strategies, efficiency and cost-effectiveness

People with long-term conditions need a great deal of support, including access to high-quality, timely information, emotional support, social support, help with making and implementing decisions, and help with adopting healthier behaviors. Self-care is an essential part of good management of long-term conditions, but poses considerable challenges for patients. In this review I discuss how internet-delivered treatments can meet user needs and hence promote self-care. Data presented are drawn largely from systematic reviews.
