Neurofibromatosis Type 2 patients may develop trigeminal neuralgia from displaced auditory brainstem implant (ABI) cables. Surgical decompression resolved symptoms, highlighting nonvascular nerve compression as a cause.

  • This is the first reported instance of an ABI cable displacing and causing neurovascular compression.
