Pressure-controlled ventilation (PCV) significantly lowers peak airway pressure (P(peak)) in the breathing circuit during one-lung ventilation (OLV). However, this reduction is less pronounced in the dependent lung bronchus, challenging the perceived benefit of PCV over volume-controlled ventilation (VCV).
